Celebrities Take Center Stage at London Fashion Week

Fashion

As fashion month continues to captivate audiences worldwide, London Fashion Week has set a new precedent by featuring an unprecedented number of celebrities on the runway. Unlike previous years where stars were often spotted in the front row or at after-parties, this season saw a shift towards leveraging star power in model casting. The result was a spectacle that blended fashion with Hollywood glamour, making the runways as star-studded as any red carpet event.

Burberry: A Parade of Hollywood Talent

Burberry's Fall/Winter 2025 show was a highlight of the week, with actors Elizabeth McGovern, Lesley Manville, Richard E. Grant, and Jason Isaacs gracing the catwalk. Isaacs, currently starring in the highly anticipated third season of The White Lotus, brought his acting prowess to the runway, alongside his fellow actors. This ensemble cast underscored Burberry's commitment to blending fashion with cultural relevance.

Simone Rocha: A Star-Studded Affair

Simone Rocha's show was another standout, featuring a diverse lineup of celebrities. Model and TV personality Alexa Chung, A Small Light lead Bel Powley, Oscar-nominated actress Andrea Riseborough, and Harry Potter alum Fiona Shaw all walked the runway. This eclectic mix of talent added a unique dimension to the show, reflecting Rocha's ability to merge fashion with broader cultural narratives.

Other Notable Appearances

Beyond Burberry and Simone Rocha, other notable celebrities made appearances throughout the week. Florence Pugh, known for her roles in Little Women and Midsommar, opened the Harris Reed show with a dramatic poem, setting the tone for a memorable presentation. Debi Mazar, known for her roles in Entourage and Younger, performed as part of the Completedworks Autumn/Winter 2025 presentation, showcasing her versatility as an artist.

Tanya Reynolds, star of Sex Education, closed out the Emilia Wickstead Fall/Winter 2025 show, while rapper Pa Salieu brought the energy to the Labrum London presentation, where he was joined by fellow musicians Akala, D Double E, Ghetts, and Wretch 32. Penelope Tree, a model-turned-novelist, returned to the runway for Richard Quinn, and media personality Mia Khalifa walked for Di Petsa, alongside singer-songwriter Ayra Starr.

A New Era for Fashion Week

This shift towards featuring celebrities as models rather than just spectators marks a new era for London Fashion Week. It not only highlights the intersection of fashion and entertainment but also underscores the evolving role of celebrities in the fashion industry. As fashion month continues in Milan and Paris, it will be interesting to see if this trend continues, further blurring the lines between fashion and celebrity culture.
