As New York Fashion Week drew to a close, one event stole the spotlight: the launch of Vogue's March issue, featuring none other than pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter on its cover. The evening was a testament to Carpenter's meteoric rise, marked by a sold-out tour, global hits, two Grammys, and now, a coveted Vogue cover.
The venue, Monsieur in the East Village, designed by the visionary Baz Luhrmann, set the tone for a night as theatrical as it was cinematic. Carpenter made a stunning entrance in a white satin Dolce & Gabbana ensemble, echoing the Old Hollywood-inspired look she wears on the cover, captured by the legendary Steven Meisel and styled by Ib Kamara. The effect was nothing short of pure star power.
The guest list was a who's who of fashion and entertainment royalty, including Cara Delevingne, Georgina Chapman, Adrien Brody, Tyler Mitchell, and Law Roach. Also in attendance were the March issue's cover models—Awar Odhiang, Luiza Perote, Lulu Tenney, and Jiahui Zhang—and Carpenter's biggest fan, her sister Sarah, who beamed with pride throughout the night.
A recurring theme of the evening was the influence of Thom Browne, with guests arriving in his signature pleated skirts and trompe l'oeil designs. Jordan Roth and Cole Escola were among those embracing the Browne aesthetic, while Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall added their own flair, with Hall carrying a dachshund-shaped handbag that turned heads.
Anna Wintour kicked off the evening with a toast to Carpenter, recalling their first meeting where the singer outlined ambitious career goals, including a duet with Dolly Parton—a collaboration that would debut just days later. Wintour praised Carpenter's vivacity and enthusiasm, noting, "There truly isn’t anything you can’t do!"
Carpenter reflected on the significance of the moment, saying, "For any little girl on planet Earth, being on the cover of Vogue is one of her biggest dreams. But you never picture it happening in such a special way, with such a special group of people." She also acknowledged the creative forces behind the cover, including Pat McGrath and Guido Palau.
As guests mingled and admired the glossy March issues, the evening became a celebration not just of Carpenter's achievement but also of the future of fashion. Designers like Christopher John Rogers, Hillary Taymour, Jonathan Simkhai, Prabal Gurung, and Raul Lopez were in attendance, making the night a perfect finale to New York Fashion Week. With Carpenter's songs serving as the unofficial soundtrack of the season, it was fitting that she closed out the city's most glamorous week in style.
